Getting Started
Getting started with Tip Master is easy. Just launch the application, tap the “Total Bill Amount:” field and enter the amount you would like to base your tip on. By default, Tip Master will use a 3-star “good” rating to calculate the tip, but you can raise or lower your evaluation of the service by sliding the service slider from poor to excellent. The tip amount will be adjusted based on the service level selected.

Editing Your Tipping Scenarios
Tip Master comes complete with tipping suggestions for twenty tipping situations (called tipping scenarios in Tip Master.) These scenarios may be plenty for some, but you may want to add your own tipping scenario or modify the existing ones.
Add your own Tipping
Scenario
To add your own Tip Master tipping scenario, simply tap the Scenarios button from the main screen and tap the Edit button in the upper right of the Tipping Scenario list screen. The list will change into edit mode and you can add a new tip by scrolling to the bottom of the list and tapping the plus button next to the last item in the list – it has the title “Add New Tipping Scenario..”
Figure 3 Editing the Tipping Scenario List
This brings up the new scenario window(Figure 4). To set up your new tipping scenario tap on the right hand side of the screen next to the value you want to change, say Scenario Name for example, and a keyboard will appear for you to enter your information. Simply hit return when done to store the information.
Tip Master is capable of working with two different tipping methods. The first is calculated as a percent of the bill. This method is most common and is used for restaurants, taxis, hairstylists, etc.. To set up a tip based on percent of the bill enter your preferred tipping percentage when you receive poor, good, and excellent service. When you are done just tap the “Tipping Scenarios” button to return to the scenario list.
The other method of calculating tips in Tip Master is to base the tip on the number of services or items provided. This method is used for auto valets, bellhops, Skycaps, etc.. With this method Tip Master does not ask for the total amount of the bill, rather it asks for the number of cars parked or bags carried and bases the tip amount on a poor, good, and excellent tip amount per item or service provided. To set up this type of tip tap the second row in the New Scenario screen called “Tip Based On:” If you select to base your tip amount on the number of items you will also be asked to provide a description of what the tip is based on, such as “cars parked” or “bags carried / checked” or “cocktails served.” Now when you enter tipping amounts for poor, good, and excellent service you are entering actual dollar amounts, not percentages, for each item provided. For example you may want to configure your Auto Valet scenario so that you tip $0.00 for each car parked for poor service, $2.00 per car for good service, and $5.00 per car for excellent service.
